KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Landscape Architect is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and construction of projects of various scales according to schedules and budgets. The Landscape Architect develops and reviews project plans and technical documents to assure projects are code compliant and within J2 standards. Responsibilities include:

Manage and complete projects of varying scale with limited assistance from senior management

Act as Project Manager and manage LA design effort and coordinate with other PM’s in all phases of projects

Ensure effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between other project participants, including architects, engineers, developers, contractors, and clients

Oversee and guide others’ designs and modeling
-
Review and approve design tasks performed by team members

Ensure efficient project completion - review deliverables throughout the project

Maintain the trust and respect of staff, peers, and clients
-
Cultivate and uphold a positive team culture
-
Train and mentor new and junior level staff members
-
Serve as the final stamp of approval on design and technical documents
-
Act as lead designer for the development of design documents from conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration

Prepare conceptual design concepts using a variety of hand-drawn and digital techniques
-
Prepare, plan, and develop project design elements including, but not limited to, site grading, paving design, structures, site lighting, planting, and accessibility

Demonstrate expertise in the design of creative exterior amenity spaces
-
Design and build models in AutoCAD and SketchUp
-
Prepare digital graphics and renderings with Adobe Creative Suite and presentation software
-
Research zoning codes, entitlement process and permit requirements to ensure compliance
-
Remain current with Local, State, and Federal design standards and regulations to ensure compliance
-
Maintain excellent knowledge of planting design and plant material suitable for local region
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Landscape architectural degree
-
Minimum 4 years of experience in all phases of landscape design and planning with experience in large-scale projects

Professional registration is preferred, not required
