We visited the constructed Corpus Christi parish in Loudoun County, VA, to take in the impressive design and vast campus. J2 helped with the design and approvals needed for the 21,000-SF Gothic-style church construction and is part of the phased, master-planned 100,000-SF campus. The European-style cathedral currently accommodates 1,100 congregants and includes 60-foot ceilings, hand-carved fixtures, a limestone facade, and a hand-crafted, stained-glass window.

Corpus Christi Project Highlights
The 100,000-SF campus’ first phase – the cathedral – is part of a 10-year multi-phased plan.
The cathedral opened to the public in May 2021.
The first development phase includes the church site layout planning, surface parking, sidewalks, landscape architecture and design, and a stormwater management pond.
Additionally, we provided the following services: zoning entitlements, site survey and construction stakeout, site layout planning, final engineering design and permitting, landscape architecture design, and construction administration.
Off-site sidewalk connections to facilitate pedestrian access to the church and integrate the church with the surrounding community.
Up next: a rectory, parish center, hall, a school with a childcare facility, and a gymnasium.
J2 carefully planned these improvements with the parish leaders and the Diocese of Arlington to minimize the impacts of future phases on the initial infrastructure. During the design process, J2 worked with the Diocese and the General Contractor to incorporate a value engineering process into our delivery of the work. This process enabled J2 to deliver site improvements that met the church’s near-term needs while keeping initial costs within the budgeted range.
